Endoscopic examinations and procedures

Endoscopy – an examination during which a thin, flexible tube with a video camera allows a visual assessment of the condition of internal organs or body cavities. During the examination, if necessary, a biopsy may be performed.

ENDOSCOPIC PROCEDURES PERFORMED IN OUR CLINIC:

Bronchoscopy – is a test that examines the larynx, trachea, and upper bronchi.

Gastroscopy – examination of the esophagus, stomach, and duodenum. Informative in the diagnosis of pathologies such as ulcers, polyps, thickening of the mucous membrane or foreign bodies, which may not be shown by ultrasound or X-ray examination. During the investigation, if necessary, a sample can be collected and analyzed. Knowing the exact diagnosis allows effective treatment.

Removal of foreign bodies – when a foreign body is suspected, when the animal drools, vomits, behaves restlessly and cannot find a place, the stuck foreign body is removed from the esophagus or stomach with the help of an endoscope.

This is a study that has a number of advantages:

  1. With an endoscope, the doctor can inspect the organ or the condition of the body cavities from the inside without the need for surgical intervention.
  2. The endoscope is inserted into the natural openings of the body, so the tissues and their integrity are not damaged.
  3. Endoscopic examination is not a painful procedure, a short period of anesthesia is used. During the investigation, if necessary, a sample can be collected and analyzed.
